Criterion A: Inquiring and Analysing

Concept of the game
At the moment, I am planning to create a fun game using "Scratch" because I like games and I'm kind of familiar with it.
The target user of a game is children from 5 to 12 years old.

Interview to parents of children in the kindergarten.

What type of game do you want/not want your child to play?
I don't want my child to play games that contains a lot of offensive contents, but I will allow him to play educational games and games with appropriate contents.

What do you think of computer games?
I don’t think computer games are good for children. I would rather want my child to play outside than playing games. I always concern if my child lucks concentration on schoolwork.

How do you think computer games could be profitable for children?
I think computer games could be good for children if they can play the game without stressing or something.

  1. Criteria A was due on the 18th of October
    Lunch time detention on Wednesday

    • Identify a scenario where you would like to provide your services by creating a product. E.g. school, Science lab, Math lessons, orphanage, community library, kindergarten etc.
Give the name of the School and name the client e.g. Mrs Jones
    • Explain the current scenario and what is expected from you from the client.
    • For doing this you need evidence of inquiry and analysis in the form of articles read, sites visited, interviews and feedback from friends in school, community using different types of media.
    • You need to think of questions to ask as the interview must lead you to plan the components when you will be creating the game, animation, story, movie etc.
    • Make a table and create a detailed plan. Look at the examples on the website
    • Why did you choose Scratch as the tool to create the product? Compare with other tools available.
e.g. easy to use, no need to remember code, easy to include characters etc.
    • Write about the design brief
o What features would the product have? Scenes, Sprite, Code, objects, Images etc.
o Point scored when the cat touches the mouse etc.
